A Week in Powerplay

Edmund Mahon forged no new agreements this week, but the Alliance still enjoyed a period of prosperity. With relatively amicable diplomatic relations between the Alliance and the other major powers, it’s no surprise that the power is doing well. If the current political climate remains unchanged, prosperity will continue in Alliance space.
Zachary Hudson’s fleets surged ahead this week, bringing six new systems under the protection of the Federation. The Federal Navy’s recruitment and supply levels remain high, and pundits are speculating about what the President has in mind for his burgeoning navy.
Aisling Duval sustained record low undermining of her public image this week, and Imperial opinion polls have shown a sharp increase in the popularity of the People’s Princess. Two key systems pledged their support to Aisling this week – Qi Yun Cech and Djira.
Arissa Lavigny-Duval sustained extraordinary opposition during the week, and despite every control system receiving its respective quota of garrison supplies, six of her key systems have fallen into turmoil. With so much on the new Emperor’s plate – from day-to-day administration, to Emperor’s Dawn, to the Pegasi War – some question whether she is up to the task.
Felicia Winters is working closely with her advisors this week, and it was reported that the Shadow President personally fielded petitions for redress from system administrators in the Lumbla region who did not receive expected aid packages. Winters’ approval rating fell further this week, despite her attempts to allay concerns about supply-chain shortages.
Li Yong-Rui built on the progress of last week to generate great profits for Sirius. No additional acquisitions were made this week, but next week holds great promise. Four systems are seeking business deals with Sirius, which sent stocks soaring.
Denton Patreus triumphed over three Emperor’s Dawn cells this week, but many suspect we have yet to hear the last of Emperor’s Dawn, and Patreus’ forces busily fortified his territory against additional incursion. The Senator welcomed reports that the Ditae system has also come under his sway.
Zemina Torval made no new business deals this week. Opposition to her objectives was below average this week, allowing her to collect a substantial reserve of command capital. These reserves should open opportunities to establish preferred trade agreements in several profitable systems in the near future.
Pranav Antal expanded into the Kaurukat system this week, bringing the total number of Utopian enclave systems to 46. Forecasters project a worrisome future for Utopia, however, as administrative overheads have begun to tax the growing power. The power will need to concentrate on fortifying its expanding borders if it is to stay out of trouble.
Archon Delaine unleashed a massive attack on the Pegasi Sector and surrounding areas, resulting in the fall of Jormor. Insurrections are in full swing in seven key systems in the region. Two of the worlds under attack are Imperial, and it is expected that the Imperial Fleet will mobilize to protect them. Analysts predict that Delaine will secure several strongholds in other unprotected worlds next week.
